When Rotary International turned 100 and everyone was hoping for a grand ball at the Royal Palace (since the King is a Rotarian), Anders Carlberg stepped forward and asked what kind of newspaper headlines that would create—essentially, that Rotary is doing what everyone expects Rotary to do. Instead, the celebrations were moved to the youth center Fryshuset, where the party continued well into the early hours. That’s when the idea was born: of course, there should be a Rotary at Fryshuset. No sooner said than done—our club was founded.
Needless to say, our club’s focus is on youth-related activities.
